Banjo Anatomy and assembly This series will attempt to break down the various parts of the banjo as this, a '70s model Ibenez, gets completely re-assembled from it's various parts. Banjos from different companies and individuals are, well ... different. They all share some common characteristics, though. There are one piece flanges, two piece flanges, shoe brackets, combinations of some, resonators, coordinator rods, dowel sticks, wood rims, cast rims, tone rings, flesh hoops, armrests, and on, and on, and on! If you plan on using any of this as a guide, please take some of this information with a grain of salt. Not all banjos are alike. Not all have the same parts configuration some may not fit back together as easily as they came apart, either. My advice is to never take anything apart unless you have to and only if you are experienced or have someone with you who has experience. With that said, please enter the next page to view the series. |
